Our Team

Meet Dr Roman Somogy, OD

Dr. Roman Somogy is the owner and an optometrist at Sigma Eyehealth Centers, proudly serving Monticello, Anamosa, and Marion, Iowa. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree cum laude from the Chicago College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. He graduated with clinical honors and received multiple awards recognizing excellence in low vision care, contact lens fitting, and patient management.

Meet Dr Emma Gurgel, O.D.

Dr. Emma Gurgel is a dedicated optometrist at Sigma Eyehealth Centers, with a strong passion for providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Dr. Gurgel graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Business Finance before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree, also cum laude, from the Chicago College of Optometry at Midwestern University.
Dr. Gurgel specializes in pediatric eye care and the management of ocular disease, combining clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach. She is committed to ensuring every patient receives the highest quality of care, whether managing complex eye conditions or advocating for children to achieve their best possible vision.
