OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT

Position: Optometric Assistant (Full-Time)

Sigma Eyehealth Centers is looking to add a full-time Optometric Assistant to our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, patient-centered optometric practice where you’ll play a vital role in both clinical care and front desk operations.

About the Role

As an Optometric Assistant, you’ll support a wide range of duties that are essential to our day-to-day operations and patient care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and is eager to learn and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Duties:
  • Perform preliminary testing and screenings for patients
  • Obtain and document medical histories in our electronic medical records system
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic testing as needed
  • Relay patient information to the optometrist accurately and efficiently
  • Provide follow-up communication and care as directed

Administrative & Front Desk Duties:

  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Prepare patient charts and handle reminder calls
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized office environment
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone

About the Role

As a Patient Services Coordinator, you’ll be a key part of our front office team, helping ensure smooth operations and a welcoming experience for every patient. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service
  • Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments and preparing charts
  • Preparing patient charts and verifying insurance
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Ordering contact lenses and managing inventory
  • Supporting general office cleaning and sanitization
  • Performing other administrative tasks typical of a healthcare setting

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

  • A strong communicator with excellent phone and interpersonal skills
